Please contact us if you have further questions about the Bunk Room or any other accessibility issues. The front entrance to the hotel is accessible and there is a clear path of travel from the handicap parking space to the front entrance of the hotel, to the guest check-in counter, and on to the Bunk Room. Unfortunately, because the elevator will not accommodate a wheelchair, there is no access to amenities such as the second floor Adirondack lounge chairs or the rooftop patio. The hotel does have one dedicated marked handicap parking space. In order to comply with the requirements of the ADA, it would require the removal of the rear poured concrete wall and poured concrete lintel which would compromise the integrity of the building and, therefore, such alteration is not “readily achievable.” The Snooze does have one room (“the Bunk Room”) on the ground floor which originally served as the manager’s quarters and has some ADA Compliant features such as a ramp to the bathroom, 36″ entrance, and handles in the bathroom. The hotel was constructed using poured concrete and CMU block. The elevator is not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair and there was no way to reconstruct it. The Snooze has 18 dedicated guest rooms all of which are on the second, third and fourth floors of the hotel. We have been unable to make many of the changes required to be fully ADA compliant because of the structure of the building. The Snooze was built in 1957, well before the ADA became law, and no structural alterations have been made to the hotel since its initial construction. Notice regarding ADA accessibility – Unfortunately, the Snooze Hotel does not have any ADA dedicated rooms. We don’t give a parking space with it, and it is wheelchair friendly.
