![]() “There’s no such law,” Lila shrieked, her voice becoming increasingly shrill, “You’re just making that up.” “There is?” Adrien raised an eyebrow, looking between Hugo and the photographer. “But you can’t,” Hugo butted in, “There’s a law that states you can’t work where a medical emergency has happened on the same day.” “Look, we’ll call an ambulance or whatever,” the photographer said, “But Lila’s right, we should finish the photoshoot.” “Excuse me, you can’t just interrupt my photoshoot because your stupid sister fainted.”Īdrien shot her a glare before looking toward the photographer. “Won’t you help my sister,” he asked, “You seem like someone who could help her.” He ran over to Adrien and tugged his arm. “My sister’s fainted,” he continued with more emotion, “She needs help. “Oh no,” Hugo began, and winced as Emma pinched him. The photographer glanced over to them, and Adrien looked concerned. They'd been walking near the shoot, when Emma let out a horrifying scream, and collapsed. “Fine, but your plan better be good.”Įmma’s grin was devilish. Besides, look at him, he’s practically begging for help.” “We’ll need to talk to people,” Emma groaned, “The thing isn’t going to drop out of the sky. “We can’t interfere with the timeline,” Hugo argued, though his resolve was crumbling, “We just need to find the thing and go.” “We have to save him,” Emma announced, looking horrified. “Very good, Lila,” the photographer nodded, “Better, Adrien.” The girl had practically draped herself all over him, her grin a little too wide. “Look into her eyes, like you want to kiss her,” the photographer ordered, “Like she’s the only girl in the world.”Īdrien's eyes widened, and he forced a smile. He tugged on the collar of his shirt, his eyes darting toward a movie theater. His arm was around a brunette with green eyes, and he shifted uncomfortably. Sure enough, the same blonde teen stood by the fountain in the park, posing. “Look,” she pointed, her mouth open, “It’s Dad!” Hugo looked toward Emma, but her gaze was on something in the park. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the world seemed bright. Parisians were strolling through the streets, couples sharing ice cream or sitting on the park benches. He tore his gaze away to the other part of the road, where things weren't quite so strange. A small crowd of people, all eerily dressed like the ad, were staring up at it, transfixed. His mother had admitted she'd been obsessed with Adrien ever since she was 14, and clearly she wasn't the only one. He'd definitely heard that his dad had done pretty interesting ads, but this was the best thing he'd ever seen. There was his dad, running on top of a building. Bright billboards were on top of the buildings and Hugo almost burst out laughing. Her nose wrinkled at the sight of the trash bin, and Hugo followed his sister out onto the street. “I think Bunnix left,” Emma straightened. They had landed in the back of an alley, and he swallowed at the sight of a rat.
